5 × 8 = 40
5 × 9 = 45
5 × 10 = 50
5 × 11 = 55
5 × 12 = 60
Make the facts connected
5 × 6 means 5 groups of 6, totaling 30. Adding one more group of 6 gives 6 × 6 = 36.
The factors can swap: 5 × 8 = 8 × 5 = 40. Use whichever order is easier to picture.
Check with division
45 ÷ 5 = 9. The product tells you the total; division finds the number or size of equal groups.
